This article lists 75 Anemometer MCQs for engineering students. All the Anemometer  Questions & Answers given below include a hint and a link wherever possible to the relevant topic. This is helpful for users who are preparing for their exams, interviews, or professionals who would like to brush up on the fundamentals of the Anemometer.

Anemometers are common weather station instruments. The cup anemometers measures wind speed with three or four cups attached to a rotor. The cup anemometers are easy to maintain & calibrate, suitable for outdoor use, and widely used in weather stations.

The vane anemometers measure wind direction and speed using a horizontal vane and vertical tail. The vane anemometers are suitable for outdoor use, widely used in weather stations and HVAC systems.

The hot-wire anemometers measure air velocity by measuring the electrical resistance of a heated wire as it is cooled by airflow. The measurement range of hot wire anemometers is 0-800 ft/min, and these anemometers are highly sensitive and suitable for low-velocity airflows.

The pitot tube anemometers measure airspeed by measuring the difference between total pressure and static pressure in a tube and its measurement range is 0-120 mph. This anemometer is suitable for use in HVAC systems, and aircraft, and it requires calibration to account for air density and altitude.
