A power system is an environment in which a number of electrical appliances are interconnected to generate, transmit and utilize power. The first power system was designed in the year 1881 in England. The purpose of the design of a power system is to basically generate huge Watts of power and transmit to the sub-power station, and from the sub-power station, the power is again divided and sent for application stations which can be industries, houses, hospitals, etc.

These power systems mainly consist of a transformer, circuit breaker, motor, generators, etc which generate the bulk of electric power for transmission purposes. Small accidents in a power station can bloom the entire environment, hence these stations are built at distance away from domestic areas.

Electrical accidents in domestic areas such as a house, offices, etc can be defended using electric protectors such as a fuse. The benefits provided by a power system are they are reliable, exhibits diversity factor, and generates sufficient power depending on the design.
